Re: 2014 Show Us Your Kits
Finally I’ve got a pair of decent gauntlets to go with this kit! The list of armourers in this armour keeps growing, in no particular order: Stanislav Prosek, Emrys, Luke Binks, Albert Collins, Per Lillemund Jensen, Mark Vickers, Black Swan Designs.. :D I’m very happy with the current look, the next...

FS high quality footman's kit + barbuta
I received an offer I can't refuse and I'm in desperate need of money. That's why I'm selling a lot of redundant kit that I still like below their market value: Linseed oil blackened barbuta by Stanislav Prozek, size 60/61 cm €250 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v55/kaos333/for%20sale/barbute1_zps...

Re: Questions concerning 15th Century Brigandine Harnesses
A great source for seeing examples of brigandines in combination with various armour are the Caesar tapestries. Keep in mind that it's a burgundian source. From the top of my head it summarises mostly as follows in regards to brig combinations: Flemish or Italianate arms and legs, brigandine style c...

I've always loved this helm, here's mine by Albert Collins. viewtopic.php?f=16&t=116373
I'm posting it because it might help you a bit, seeing the helm on a person. It's still a replica, so I'd advise to look at the original as much as possible, though.

Re: Who owns/owned an armet?
I can't comment on the ventilation yet, as I still need to recieve my armet so I can train and fight in with, but I can comment on vision and armour. It's generally not the type of helm, but the fit of it that dictates how well you can see from them. My sallet has a slit of ca. 5 mm wide, but becaus...

'That kinda dough' is a steal for that armour. Period. I've seen and held that armour many times and it's wonderfully made, it WORKS.
If I wasn't much too short for it I'd try to get the cash together.. I know I spent more on my current kit (even if that's overcomplete).

Hi Kalle,
I'll definitely be there, although I won't be bringing any medieval kit. But I'll be at plenty other events, so we'll probably meet someday.
I'll be very busy filming the event, the trailer has been done by me as well. I can't wait to see the first lances break!
Cheers,
Ben

Wow, that diving-alien-beekeeper thing is definitely the weirdest helmet I've seen. Granted, it probably offer good protection and excellent vision for a helmet of that size but it looks really bulky and heavy. No wonder it has not become a common design... Uncommon? It's made for a very specific p...

I absolutely am, Tom! As to Toby's armour, after having seen both harnesses in person I must say I like his current suit more. This is the thickness after grinding, I checked again and it leans more to the 0.7, but still very thin. This is for the vambrace and rerebrace only, the couters are ca 1.3 mm.
