Re: 1350 transitional plate armour

Alright Russ, thanks for the reply. So totally negating my idea of modern wallachia for the moment, what type of transitional plate armour would of been used during 1350 of total western influence? I have seen effigies showing total plate of cuirass, arms, gauntlets, and legs and was just wondering ...

Re: 1350 transitional plate armour

Russ,

Would you be able to show me a coloured picture if at all possible or an artist's rendition/reproduction of a mainly western fitted Vlach warrior of 1350?

If anyone else could help too, that be awesome!

Re: 1350 transitional plate armour

Athanaric,

Thanks for the reply. :) Will consider this strongly.

Russ,

Okay so going with a more western influence of armour layout you have described what type of gauntlet would be consistent with such a theme?

And Russ I have seen the territory, been back home twice now. :)

Re: 1350 transitional plate armour

Okay, Thanks all for the replies. I am concerned mainly about protection, historical accuracy regarding my hard kit first and historical accuracy regarding soft kit second. I am using this armour for full speed sparring with a blunted custom made sparring sword to use in western martial arts. My pre...

Greetings, Laurie Wise: Thanks for your speedy reply! Sorry for getting back to you late! To Barrett Kirby has made a few bronze pieces but there was never a great call for him to do this. He made a xiphos for Lysander of Sparta but that was decades ago. Since then, only a few "ritual" daggers but i...
