I've been fighting in one of their Bascinets for a couple of months now. TVery well made, and you can't beat the price. A couple of minor things, though. I also felt that the line was too thin, so I replaced it almost immediately. Wasnt a big fan of the chinstrap either. Based on what I've heard ove...

Check out this tutorial by Sir Bartholomew Hightower of Artemisia. I have had him make me a shield, and used his techniques to make my own. The specific example is for a kite, but same principles apply to heater or any other curved shield. The rawhide edging technique can be used for any size or sha...

Armour and Castings=Awesome

A&C has a good rep already, but I wanted to add my 2 cents. I decided to move into the 14th Century, and I needed some gear. I had decided on a back point Bascinet, aventail, period liner, interchangable visors - the works. I spent a great deal of time doing research, talking to people, asking quest...

I had similar "issues" with email communication...asking several questions and only receiving answers to some of them. I chalked it up to language differences. I simplified my wording, asked single part questions and that seemed to fix the issue for me. I haven't received my helm yet, but it is in t...

How long have you been waiting between emails? I too currently have an order with them. I have asked for several updates, and they have gotten back to me each time, but it does take a day or two for them to respond.

Something to do with being on the other side of the world I guess.
