Re: Congratulations Sir Murdoch!

No decision has yet been made on the knighting. There will at least be a vigil at Pennsic. Knighting will likely either be at Pennsic or at Northshield's fall coronation here in Caer Anterth Mawr. An update will be posted as soon as we know anything.

Re: Retaliation: 14th C Mafia Style

Does their household have any sort of heraldic badge associated with it? Perhaps some pennons or a banner with their badge; a textile gift along those lines does not take up too much packing space. I was thinking about a silk painted banner, but I don't have the talent to make it and being recently...

Retaliation: 14th C Mafia Style

Ok, maybe "retaliation" isn't the best word, but I need some help. Let me explain some background first. Last camping season at Warriors and Warlords, I invited a friend (who in turn brought the rest/most of his household) who was looking for a place to camp to come and join our household, even thou...

No... not an escutcheon voided but... a bordure set inside from the edge of the shield (at least thats how I think of it).

Granted, on a heater shaped shield the escutcheon voided gets you the same thing, but the orle follows the shape of the shield, no matter what shape.

OK guys... I'm thinking Per bend sinister gules and Or, a starling countercha n ged within a bordure sable Fullam -- clear visual difference between bird and beaver, so there's one. You'd want at least one more charge of any sort, or flip the Or and gules on yours so it's opposite from what he's go...

Fight ya for it! Especially if I get back into armour this year, which is not a sure thing yet, but probable... LOL

Not too worried about it, as even without said measurements I think it more likely to fit your lady than to fit me, but I still wanna know. :D

Can you give a bit more in sizing? For example, how tall is she/what is length of gowns from neckline to hem? Dress size doesn't give hem length (if she's 6' and I'm 5'4", we could both wear a dress size 6 and not fit the same clothing). Sleeve length would be another good one.

*edit to add: Okay, I muffed up the terminology on that last one. A 'tressure of objects' is an ORLE of objects. Like this: http://rollofarms.antirheralds.org/display.php?id=1426 Not quite. An orle is a heater shape. It looks like a tressure on a heater shaped shield, but it keeps its heater shape ...

Couldn't the coney's just be "overall, two rabbits with stags attire combattant"? (Sorry, off the top of my head, so that might not be quite right, but the rest of ya heralds will know what I mean) I think that your proposed device is registerable, with one exception.. change the brown/red to a meta...

While this wasn't an SCA specific room, at another house I lived in we did try to decorate one room in a modern "medieval" theme.
