you might be able to do this I'm not really sure... however repeated bending ie. the area at the hips will resuly in a more flexable area.seanjohnson1 wrote:Is it possible to reverse the water-hardening in a few places to make it more flexibile?

For the unlearned among us, how is that used? A fibula is basically an ancient safety pin: “ fibula ( /ˈfɪbjʊlə/, plural fibulae /ˈfɪbjʊli/ ) is an ancient brooch. Technically, the Latin term, fibulae, refers to Roman brooches; however, the term is widely used to refer to brooches from the entire a...

Ok is this the SAME stuff as before or a different material?
Won't we have the sme issue of batch consistency -one bach good lasts forever, the next breaks inside of 10 fights?
I dislike that you cannot 'shape' these to resemble 'real' weapons like you can with thick rattan.

That is my "cutting spear". According to the SCA rules of the list it is a two handed weapon (being used in one hand). As such, as long as it does not exceed 7.5', it may have a cutting head and buttspike. It is fiberglass spears that may not have a cutting surface or buttspike. yup technically a p...

I've fought this wat a few times using either a 6' spear or thrust and throw javilins! It's lost of fun esp. when you gack the shieldman charging the shieldwall while hes a good 4 feet from the shields.

If it's meant to be protective esp. for your upper spine/neck I would go with 13oz leather, and wet form it into the shape you desire... then water or wax harden it.

Someone on the board had a great idea. Make a few small banner/pennon out of sturdy cloth and attached with velcro. Write something like "This pennon is worth 1 beer. To claim your beer, please visit <your camp location here>" Funny, and you get to meet new people. Oh, and you get it back, too. :) ...

The ToC was excellent the format was really great, I was fighting non-stop with the Knights during my block, and even got some extra time in with walk-on’s the melee training was good. The only problem with a ToC is by the end of the day you’ve got 50 lessons running through your head to the point y...

It's a pain in the ass to cure properly so that it is safe. But, if you follow the instructions, it is actually food safe. Ahh but truely 'safe' for prolonged use? All these 'mold' food grade silicon products I've checked on have told me flat out NOT to use them in bottles or jacks where the foor i...

Re: How do you make a Leather Jack (mug)?
most of the food-safe urethane and silicon are not really 'safe' for prolonged use. I've contacted at least 60 producers of these food-safe products about using them in leather bottels and castrels and every one of then do NOT recommend using their products in this fashion. They've told me their pro...
