i use 1050. Be careful though sometimes Adrmiral has sent me sheets that were not consistant. One end was dang near mild one was crazy carbon heavy, everything out of that whole sheet was useless. You gotta soak it to get it on there, but you usually don't have to piece it as much as with smaller stuff. And you get more control of the width than if it's pre cut, obviously.

I usually get hurt before i get to one and then have to take time off and then half start over.

Try a different weapon style, a smaller shield, fight 2 guys at the same time, fight at a different practice.

I've never been able to make a sword that was more durable than normal rattan that didn't also feel like a big dead piece of crap.

Plus they never got more than maybe 50 ish% better durability.

So 12-14 good days of fighting, instead of 8 on a single handed sword.
