You'd likely be in German or Italian armour, since thats who's makeing alot of the stuff in that period. The French are sending/ sellin us equipment, part of the auld alliance. You are also a Lowland noble and as likely to have some land in England as not, so you may have armour bought from there. L...

As for a minimum gague, i doubt we'll need to be at 12 ga for helms. Otto Von Tiech and i have whacked each other with del tins a pretty fair bit, he was wearing a low gothic rig from Valentine, so i think they're stuff is 18 ga. It would also depend on what kinda metal ya use, if it's spring or HC ...

Remember you will probably die in the inital contact. Cover up and stay under your shield when you fall. When the marshall taps you and tells ya you can leave (or when your sure noone is armound) get up an go around the fighting. Pop your top and watch the carnage. Don't feel bad _most_ of us get ki...

>Cover the cooler! Wasn't there a time when that was standard practice in the SCA??? I have never seen anyone that seemed to care. I've lierally been told to "f--k off" for suggesting it by some litlle teenaged twit. In _real_ life i'd have busted the lil brat in the face with my boot. But in the SC...

New thread! That mean ole JT closed the old one As far as the resourse list, yes it's very very incomplete. I'm looking for more stuff and adding it as i can. But most of it will focus obviously on the English and they're allies in the late 14th century. I am still open to moving the geography over ...

"We should remember that even some of the most wealthy of people only had 1 set of clothing" I don't think thats true. Chef posted a list of stuff carried on campaign in (i think) the WOR. here's why i do it. there are all these baskets that have a plate in the bottom that you run a screw through and fix it to your stick. It screws up the way my wrist moves to be that close to the bottom of the stick. Having a little bit of stick at the end chamges the balance just a bit. Kinda acts l...

Oh and that reminds me it appears that simple wedge tents are period for us. http://www.swt.edu/~bh59648/75years/camp/ Uryen suggested that they might be thached. Don't cop out on the padding to defend plastic armour. Thats like saying we shouldn't try to look real because we drove to the event in a car. Many marshalls won't pass anything else.
