Bascot i ment i'm not tolerant in the SCA tradition of "whatever you wanna do even if it sucks is ok".

I'm perfectly happy with us getting to HE level! that would rule!

"This is often hard because in the SCA we are trained to be so." Guess i'm poorly trained. What i'm thinking is putting a list togethere of folks that sell acceptable stuff. Then recomend that folks either get their stuff from those vendors or that they try to approximate the item. 2 pirmary sources...

St George is very heavily used and there is a major legue LH group already using it.

Still we are English and allies.

I'm leaning toward White Co.

Might also help focus us, i'll look up exactally what years they were in operation in Italy.

Maybe use a specific campaign of theirs.

Does anyone carry the small open faced bascinets in north america?

On the Check "best armour" site they are the SLB 1.2, 1.4, 1.5 amd 2.3 i think.

Those would be the style of helmi see our infanty and archers in.

AFAIL the Irish, well the whole British isles, never had all that much of an indeginous arour industry.

They did have one but not like Italy or Germany.

When your guy lives is as importatnt a where.
He's probably in whatever the French/English armour fashion was a few years earlier.

Also my persona in the SCA doesn't make much sense for this either, for this i'll probably be English. Awwwww Chef $130? really? crap. Still nice stuff, i'll make ...

That and people seem to want to put 4 feet of padding in them.

Basically it looks like we're gonna borrow heavily from the current Lh orgs in the US. I like the inspection (vetting) plan. Regia does that too. I was at Gulf wars i saw this KSCA. He was wearing a megadeath t shirt (might have been slayer or metallica) torn up camo pants. Legs that looked like they were made of duct tape, a rusty ole helm that i think once was a spuntop. Looked literaly like a turd witha grill on it. It was lumpy and brown....

Escrima is fun. The sticks are very very different, they tend to be much lighter and shorter than SCA sticks. Escrima tournamnets do look a bit like SCA fighting accasionally, due to the hockey gloves and roller blade knees. http://www.armourarchive.org/ubb/smile.gif But the pace is generally alot f...

Like i said no "awards" no playing butt kiss for cookie.

No katanas :P

Oh and the Checz arourer i posted has period helmet liners, and simple bascinets for about $88 if i did the exchange right.

#1 get rid of the "local group" syatem as the means of hosting events. It lest people who may not even play out of their group have authority over what the Kingdom at large does.
