"Is this the proverbial slip or merely a typo? " Well actually it was an editing problem. Was suppoed to be crowd. I had written something like "folks in weight belts nikes and a crown" originally. It's sad that a Barony would not host a fiore seminar. The study of medieval combat and the SCA won't ...

Leather is fine by me.

It's about all i can make by myself and have it not look like crap.

It's sometimes weird to see stuff like a burgundian gothic leather suit but her they did make behord armour out of leather and from what little i know of that it was supposed to look like metal armour.

Owen i really don't want to tighten the time period all that much. Maybe fall of Rome to 1650. I get real tiered of all the 1st century "celts" and 18th century fencers in a medieval organization. I don't ,mind mixed periods all that much as a concept. I'm also sure we'll never get folks in general ...

When are you talking about?

Against what type of armour?

I'd have to say the poll axe in the hands of a skilled used.

In mass English long bow.

might ad,
The stirrup Image

But the question is kinda vague.

I was mearly reversing what Anon said. It's apparently fine that they want "us" to leave, but if anyone suggest that they might in fact be doing anything thats inappropriate then we're supposed to take our toys and go home. yet another double standard in the SCA. "Remember folks, this is a game....If your game has to have no plastic, there are any number of splinter groups that agree with you for you to play with." I've alwasy thought of that. I have shirts that are 10 years old. I have a gun thats 30 years old. We have military equipment (the M-2 the p38 can opener, the Gi pot helm ) that was used for decades in our era. So a 10-15 year span isn't bizzare imo. I was thinking our group would be English and All...

I'd suggest getting pics from the historical combat series at Pensic, including the Pas.

Maybe check the garb out at Brion's Roundtable chat.

I was amazed at the "day garb" people had on there the first time i went.
