Grabbing your own stick is legal here.

i can see why we don't allow grabbing the other guys stick, we'd get lots of broken hands. Grabbing a moving sword is alot different than grabbing a spear shaft, or a pole arm haft.

"I do know that now, in England, there is evidence of female gladiators." I saw that too. They were basically women that wrestled other women. Or shot arrows half naked. IE they were the Roman equivelanet of jello wrestelers. The practice was ofiically banned by one of the emperors. Women fighting i...

I've fought people from all over the world. There actually seems to be only a little variation on how hard people hit. It's the shot they require as a good blow that seems to be different. Force veries more from person to person than knigdom to kingdom. Just talk to your opponent, we're pretty frien...

Hi there jcesarelli, good to have ya. Yes and no. If you were to deck out as a period Norman from the 11th century, 8th century Norse or late Roman infantry you cannot pass armour inspection due to the lack of joint protection, face coverage ect. The SCA has an assumed armour standard of basically a...

Well you have stayed on topic, but when it comes down to it you seem to have 2 arguments. "I like it this way" and "It's tradition" IE the ole "we always done it this way." Just gonna respond to a little of it from here and there. "I know several people who don't participate in Pas, because they are...

i think we're finding out why the SCA HAD a lower limit on persona dates.

You can't pass armour inspection and be an accurate Hoplite for ex.

I'd go with a anthrapomorphic visor and the knee hinged greeves with cops on em. As for cuiesses, looks like your out of luck as far as period alternatives.

Daniel can't come, and i don't have the time to rework it for a "opponent" that dosen't know what to expect. Well not enough time to rework it and not have it suck.

I'd also like to point out that there are a lot of very very bad amature boxers.

9 boxers out of 10 will get obliterated by a good kicker or an equivelently trained grappler. Boxing is very useful, it is also very limited.
