BudK sells them for $30. 1-handed for $25. Daggers for $20.

The balance isn't great, and they have no thrusting tips, but both of those problems are fixable.

I resolve, before 2011 is out, to:

1. finish my Black and White kit by the end of the year

2. get an appropriate tent and campsite gear together

3. assemble the rest of at least one decent Landknecht soft kit.

Brass Armor

I saw the legs for sale here: m and it got me thinking. Has anyone that any of you know of ever made an entire suit out of brass? Aside from essentially being the SCA C-3P0 to go along w/ the other Star Wars joke armors, it strikes me as a really interesting idea. I would love to see the looks someo...

I haven't seen anything from Hjalmr lately, but he makes solid intro helms in the $100 range (mild and stainless). I fought in one of his spangens for a while before I reassembled my 14th c kit. I never got my bell rung too loud in it, not even with minimum padding. Have your noobs drop him a line. ...

The only rivet problem I've had has been one pulling the head all the way through the leather. So, I obviously did not get bad rivets. (just missed a block.)

I hope that helps narrow down the timetable on when you got the bad batch. Good luck!

Email sent. I like the lower design. Are you flexible on slashing patterns?

The sleeves in the top one look kinda' like the sleeves in a Kamprau dress. I seem to remember the RH pattern illustration having the puffed elbows and solid upper/lower arms.

Looking for Landsknecht Armor

I'm looking to have some stuff made. Specifically I need a 16th century German style gorget and spaulders in black and white. Mild would be preferable to match the other stuff I have, but I'm flexible if you think you can disguise stainless. Something like this: m Arms and Legs are a secondary conce...
