One thing I do is hack a pattern in 1/2's, 1/4's or whatever it takes so I can place them as a 8" X 10" on a copier. Then use the enlarge function to say 125% and make copies. You might have to make a couple of different pieces for each one, but once you have the whole thing copied tape it together ...

Heater shield size across the SCA?

Another revisit on this topic. Just curious on what size shield you use if use a heater? I just made a new one to replace my small scutum. It just didn't jive with a german persona. The new heater is 16" W by 24" L and will be my one and only from now on. So is it bigger, smaller or just about norma...

I never bought anything from Tandy but did make my own for leather stuff. It's a minature of my device carved into a large bolt head. I ground it into a heater shape then put my device on it using chisels and a dremel. It works well for stamping my device onto leather, except it's a little on the la...

It's good to see someone diving in and making an effort.

Just remember the armour is there to protect, not bite you. You might want to try and round off some of the 90 degree corners on the bottom of the spaulders for starters. From the pics it looks a little sharp.

Keep hammering!

I think I would go with strap and buckles for the cuisses/wrap plates. My thighs tend to vary quite a bit according to diet and exercise. I think you would want to quickly vary the fit if say something happens to change. Say like an 18 ga wrap plate being flattened in SCA combat. A couple of good wa...

I suggest having a life. As far as myself goes I would never, ever devote that many hours to armouring. Next thing you know you'll be adding brass work to articulated codpieces at 2am.

I suggest you seek guidance from your spiritual totem, the rabid weasel, to cure you of this affliction.

Lose the high tech shoes and the kit looks pretty good.

However...1200 X 1600 pixels is just a wee bit overkill for a picture posted on a board. Try and reduce future picture size postings and you will have more people actually looking at it. Not everybody is on a high speed line.

Move towards authenticity = Rhino?

Like the title says, if you wear more armour than usual for your kingdom.... do you turn into a rhino according to the kingdom standards? I am starting to see that problem emerging for me sometime soon. I wear more armour then anyone I have seen so far in Meridies. I have fought a lot a high caliber...
