FS: Auction of collectibles, comics, action figures, etc

A buddy of mine is liquidating his collection to cover his rising mortgage. Local people are selling their homes at a lower rate decreasing the value of his so it's not worthwhile for him to sell. http://www.auctionzip.com/cgi-bin/auctionview.cgi?lid=1375197&kwd=&zip=17055&category=0 Pictures here -...

Yep, I'll still take the strips, chausses, brass rings, and one bag of the stainless rings.

I'll pass on the coif.

Thanks

I'm interested in the chainmail strips, and some of the brass and stainless rings.

Maybe the chausses and coif too depending on price.

Re: FS Fishbone bazubands

This concept would probably work very, very well for torso armor, maybe with a little reinforcement inside that still allows the bands to slide and bend at the same time. If each strand is elastic enough and allowed freedom to both flex AND slide a bit at the same time. this could be quite interest...

Deepeeka's products are not made by people who understand what we do, and thus are unsuitable for SCA combat. Might be interested.

Re: "high tensile" steel

Higher tensile strength than regular low carbon steel? At that price, probably not. A higher temper, such as full hard or spring temper, would make for stronger chain. Not as strong as riveted or welded, but definitely better than the bend n stay wire that most steel jump rings are made from. Befor...

Ok, here's a less terrible photo. It's a hole I patched with another piece. You can see the patch has rings that are slightly smaller. The seam this time is a little less perfect on the right side as I left the extra welded rings in the connection. The bottom side has some gaps that are not yet join...

It's of the seam of two pieces joined together. The red arrows points to gaps left open intentionally. The re...

I've made a shirt of maille by fashioning bits of micro-mail together. The same kind of welded material that Atlanta armory sells, and is also used in butcher protection and shark suits. I do this not using welding, but with small high-quality split rings made by the Worth Company(fishing strong). T...
