Ok.

To make sure I explained the measurements correctly, it's just under 13 inches from the top of the greave down to ankle bridge. The ankle flaps both extend about 2 inches past that.

Depending on the series and the year that can be true, but with the economy and sites like eBay, comic value(selling power) can go way down...

The depreciation value alone on comics a few months to a year old are high.

Of course some comics will sell well no matter how bad things are...

Sizing info on the rerebraces, please? In any case, I'll take dibs on these. The vambraces I'll need to cut down the one side as I'd be intending to point these between a floated steel cop and a single piece spaulder 1340ish style, but it should be the right length inside. The rerebraces are 13 inc...

The elbow cop could be pointed or attached to the vambrace. There are a number of ways it could work depending on how padding is used.

Are these meant to be worn like bazubands? I am interested, but a 13" outside length makes these REALLY long on me. Where exactly are you measuring to get 13" from elbow to wrist? Wearing the vambrace does cover a good portion of my elbow when my arm is extended. Not enough defense by its...

FS: Pair of hardened leather greaves - Audax

I have a nice pair of hardened leather greaves made by Audax last year. They are dyed a dark blue. They fit well but are a tad too short on me. They are new, have not seen combat, and have only been tried on a few times. Measurements - Top to ankle - 12 3/4 inches Ankle flaps - 2 inches I believe th...

Myriador wrote:What oz leather are these? Over 10 oz?

It comes to about 1/8 thickness plus.

I don't know how Kilkenny's hardening process affects the thickness or what ounce he starts with, but I'm guessing by the measurements they would be 8 oz leather or so.

One more attempt before I resort to the dreaded eBay. I'm willing to break up the pair to anyone interested solely in a pair of vambraces or just the upper canons. I imagine these can be modified down to fit by someone with a little skill.

Fair offers will be considered.

Pitbull recommended

Pitbull graciously accepted a refund for a product I bought over a year ago...

Unexpected to say the least.

I would definitely do business with him again, and I would recommend his C-belts as quality items.

Thanks Pitbull!

The wrist collars can be easily removed, they're just sewed on. Without it, the sleeves may slide up your arm a bit when you raise them, but there are several period specific ways to prevent that. Tying it to your wrist with a string, attaching it to a gauntlet/bracers, or pointing it to a shirt.

Re: mail

how do u hook that to chest armor or coat? sew it? will it work exactly like voiders? i may be interested thx Sean Sewing would work yes, or just using points on an arming jacket would work fine. You could also attach it to an existing maille vest. This maille is light enough that keeping it pointe...

Was the original question to trade comic books for comic books, or comic books for armor? I'd probably be up for trading some of the books I have for armor peices, depending on the specifics of the deal. Comics for comics was what I originally had in mind. Several others are involved now, and I ima...

FS: Welded stainless maille sleeves - Sold

I have a pair of welded stainless maille sleeves for sale. The rings are 24 gauge, 3/32 id. They're made from the same mesh they use in shark suits and butcher maille, so the mesh is very strong and has a very practical use. Not to mention they look great. Depending on the girth of your legs, these ...

If anyone is looking to offload some old (80's) GI Joe comics, feel free to send a pm... Sorry, i dont have much for trading, but getting my hands on some of the old GI Joes will take me back a few years! Destro as a roman cavalry mask? Cobra commander as an eyeless Secutor? Totally armour related....
