I'vs got an order in the pot as well. Be VERY patient here. This will take some time, I am hoping to get my stuff for spring. Half off sale is a first warning flag that he is in trouble. Needs money quick to pay bills, buy food, ship and buy supplies etc... When he does a sale followed by two half ...

I'm not crazy about galvy(I too prefer stainless), but Lowes does sell a zinc spray along with their spray paints.

It sounds like you can re-galvanize metal.

I have no idea how well it would work out for maille or if the spray is as useful as it sounds.

From the look of the pictures, the mild steel maille appears to be galvanized. Of course, I would confirm before buying...

I owned a 14th Century Leather/Steel Cuirass from Schmitthenner. It was generally a good piece. I ended up selling it.

It was light, yes. However a 16 gauge breast would only be marginally heavier however.

Chris from Find-It Armory has a good reputation. Ordered from him in the past with no issues. Haven't seen his maille up close though.

tools for riveted maille

I'm considering tinkering with some overlap rings and making some riveted maille of my own.

Theringlord.com has tools for such, but does anyone else know of any alternatives?

Does anyone here still make their own riveted maille rings?

Have someone make you a chainmail sock for your hair. A modified coif may do the trick. :)

But seriously though a cover that covers all your hair would work. Even something all covering such as a hood or something.

I know this has been posted before. Anyone find any common washers that make good maille rings?
