Trust me, it's easier to save up some money now and wait than to be stuck with a POS helm and try to r...

Oh Omar you poor fool i would advise against posting the chain bra pic. Though compliments to your lady. Don't listen to him Omar. I think that, just in the scholarly interest of course, we would all need to see as many chain mail bra pics as you can post. Many issues need concideration. Style, mat...

I spoke to our weaving guru as she said to machine sew the ends of the entire piece. Then hand wash the trim on cold to allow for shrinkage, though there is usually very little. Cut too fit the garment + a little on each end, fold under and machine sew the ends then sew to the garment. She also sug...

Where is this picture from? Any clue to time period or location? Does anybody have more pics? I have wanted to move to a more acurate kit for a while now and I think this type of armor would be great.

I've been wondering about this type of armor as well. I was just talking to a couple of our resident 14th Century Mafia types about this yesterday. I have seen several pictures of maile of this type, but little in the way of documentation. My main question is what time peroid and culture is this fro...

Here is a nice example: m Amaris That's Shiek Rashid al Hilal from the Barony of Small Gray Bear in Gleann Abhann (I don't think he's on the Archive.) He made his entire kit, helm and everything. The char a'ineh has padding inside made from an Asian deer of some kind that he killed on a big game ra...

safe destructible shields: Trace out an oblong of plywood roughly 8 inches by 30 inches (or basically the length of your forarm plus some, and say two or three times the width of your forearm. Attach shield straps to this and drill 4 holes in each corner for mounting. Take 1/4 inch MFD board (or to...
