I wear butted maille over a relatively light gambeson and find that it soaks up blows pretty well. My shoulders are protected by the mail from my coif as well as that from my haubergeon and were the one area that I was concerned about. Prior to the maille, I had a significant problem getting suffici...

Excellent. I am pleased to be mistaken in this case, since that will permit the submitter to have what they want to begin with. Not only that, but on either of the field choices this is quite lovely armory! I know that there was _something_ that I thought should have given a CD along these lines but...

ladyilsebet is in fact correct, even with the relevant citation from the rules for submission. A lion rampant and a lion rampant contourney should be considered to be identical charges by longstanding precedent within the College of Arms, even though the difference in their orientation would count f...

Does anyone know the results of the final match between Count Sinclair and Sir Bryan? Was it best 2 out of 3? 3 out of 5? And what were the results of each round? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. The finals was best 2 of 3. Sir Bryan won the first round. Count Sinclair took the second...

I have it on good authority that Their Highnesses Atlantia are actively trying to figure out ways to encourage a larger Crown Tourney here. I'm pretty sure that Their Majesties share the same desire. If you're an Atlantian fighter and are not fighting in Crown, is there a particular reason why not? ...

It's not a great helm, but I do wear a full chain coif under my helm. I wear a padded arming cap, then my chain coif, then my Valsgarde 6 helm. There is no padding in the helm at all. I'm very pleased with the combination. It looks right for me, and I'm happy with the protection. http://www.housetai...

The current version of the Atlantian Great Book of Law still has 6.2.5.2 The Crown Tournament shall be a double elimination tournament. Publication date on the PDF downloaded from the web today is January 2010 and there is no update to section 6.2 listed in the errata that went into that publication...

I'm sorry, but the design cannot be registered as drawn. There is a long-standing ban in the Precedents of the College of Heralds on registering Celtic-style knotwork. It's been in place since 1979 and upheld many times since, with examples through at least 2003. The following explanation is from th...

My own experience, for what it's worth: I started fighting with a typical Atlantian heater (about 24x36, give or take). Eventually, fitness issues caused me to have to stop fighting behind anything that large - I simply could not hold it up in an effective guard for long enough to matter. Thankfully...

Mine arrived today. I'm very pleased with the purchase. As with other reviewers, the only possible complaint that I can see is the cord for wrapping it closed. Even that complaint is minor. I probably wouldn't have sprung for one at the higher price. At this blowout price, there's no question that I...

It's not a pattern, but something like this: m Peter's research is pretty highly regarded from what I can tell. I've used the pattern drawings from m to create one fitted for myself. Unfortunately, I wouldn't bet on my pattern being useful to much of anyone aside from myself but it's pretty straight...

Aaron, do you realize what you are doing here ? It isn't really constructive, although it is informative. Part of what you're telling us is that you don't want to practice at practice. You just want to get your fighting time in that you don't get anyplace else. Productive practice is much more than...
