I wear butted maille over a relatively light gambeson and find that it soaks up blows pretty well. My shoulders are protected by the mail from my coif as well as that from my haubergeon and were the one area that I was concerned about. Prior to the maille, I had a significant problem getting suffici...

Excellent. I am pleased to be mistaken in this case, since that will permit the submitter to have what they want to begin with. Not only that, but on either of the field choices this is quite lovely armory! I know that there was _something_ that I thought should have given a CD along these lines but...

Their Highnesses have both expressed a mostly selfish hope that it comes in second, so that it can adorn the walls here. All of us here who have seen it can only manage to say 'Wow!'.

This is lovely, Cian! Thanks for sharing the photo.

I have it on good authority that Their Highnesses Atlantia are actively trying to figure out ways to encourage a larger Crown Tourney here. I'm pretty sure that Their Majesties share the same desire. If you're an Atlantian fighter and are not fighting in Crown, is there a particular reason why not? ...

It's not a great helm, but I do wear a full chain coif under my helm. I wear a padded arming cap, then my chain coif, then my Valsgarde 6 helm. There is no padding in the helm at all. I'm very pleased with the combination. It looks right for me, and I'm happy with the protection. http://www.housetai...

I'm sorry, but the design cannot be registered as drawn. There is a long-standing ban in the Precedents of the College of Heralds on registering Celtic-style knotwork. My own experience, for what it's worth: I started fighting with a typical Atlantian heater (about 24x36, give or take).
