Had I known I could not upgrade from a LE version I would not have spent a ton of money on the software. Makes meangry because i had to open it and try to install to find out. Now i can't return it.

I love progress threads as well. what is the wooden template for? I take it it is an interior. Does it being made of wood have any function or was it simply a handy material?

Years ago, I had a conversation with Vesey "Nick" Norman, then master of the Tower of London Armouries, about this very topic. He was emphatic that backplates were worn at this time. That they do not survive is partly due to the high display value that the breastplates have compared to the backplate...

OT--Looking for old version of Photoshop not LE

I recently purchased a new copy of photoshop SC2 to uprgade from my old photoshop 5.0. With the upgrade you need to have a full version liscenced to you. I did not realize it but I have the LE (limited edition) version and Adobe says it is not good enough. My question is does anyone have an old full...

In some places, like Eastern Europe they may have lasted as soldier's helms up to about 1300. I have a record of a surviving four plate conical "normal style" from Hungary???? dating to the late 13th century.

Check with Valarius (Aaron Thoman) in Milwaukie and see if he still has any pictures of the 'Green Gumbie' suit that used to lie around his old shop. That was a blast from the past. He must still have it!. Old Bear are you out there? Bear forth and pause not! I remember the green thing fondly.

Guy is right. It is purely a misinterpretation of different methods of illustratign mail. With that being said there is some possibility that mail, particularly collars may have had cords or leather woven in to provide some stifffness. I believe there is some evidence of this in India or Persia.

New products--Stainless vervelles and rosette headed rivets!

I now have my larger vervelles in stock in STAINLESS STEEL. These have none of the brittleness problems of the older brass ones and should take any amount of abuse that can be dished out. You can find them here along with my new brass rosette headed rivets . http://talbotsfineaccessories.com/Jewelry...

My answer would have to be similar to Sir Mord or lorenzo2's answers. I found the SCA in college and have been in it since 1983. I have strong interest in doing late 14th century living history but there is not an active group here in Chicago. There is a sizeable SCA population. Just in case someone...
