4 unfinished helmets by Patrick Thaden! All Sold

Several years ago when Patrick Thaden was getting out of production armour I bought a bunch of his unfinished projects. I thought it would be great fun to finsh a project started by a master such as Patrick. I have saved a few for myself and I am actively working on them. I just don't have the time ...

Student made, partially finished armour and parts for sale

In the early 2000s I ran a club in the high school metal shop called "Armour Club." Students came and went. Some made excellent armour, some made OK armour and some never finished. Last week I cleaned out the cabinet that held all the unfinished parts and I am offering them to you for sale...

Re: Thames River longsword. Amazing scabbard and belt too!

Here is a review of the sword.
http://www.myarmoury.com/review_dt5140.html

From the review...
"The sword is one of my favorites, and among the most accurate of the lineup from Del Tin Armi Antiche. If you are interested in the swords of the early 1400s, this is a very attractive piece, and very well worth considering."

Thanks for the kind words Otto. You are right about the prices. I actually sell the originals for significantly less than the originals. This is especially true now that they are half price.

Re: Awesome sword for sale

That is a pretty sword...what are the dimensions? Is the scabbard made by Del Tin as well? Is that a fuller I see that tapers out about 8 inches down? Also, it is hard to tell...but is there a ricasso block for the first 6 inches from the guard? The scabbard is not Del Tin. It was handmade by an ar...

Thames River longsword. Amazing scabbard and belt too!

I have this gorgeous longsword (aka hand and a half, Bastard, etc...) made by Del Tin. This was made back when Del Tin was KING! This was when they were in Italy and crafting the swords by hand. This sword was then carefully improved by delicate file work to make all the edges perfect and to add the...

I have to contradict Buster here about separate hinges being old news. I can document 12 surviving examples from Europe in this period. Three of them are from Germany. Only one of the German examples is substantially complete but they all help answer one portion of the question or another. Here is w...
