IMHO, it's a matter of leading the new folks into the right stuff without looking down on them Easier said then done for some people. The SCA is a great place in some regards but everyone has something to say about everything and alot of it seems very sharp and opinionated to new people. There is a...

I wasn't being a troll. . (I don't know what that actually means) I legitimately have never heard someone make a fuss about it except for on this board. Que sera sera. I fight in all black sneakers when we practice indoors and if the event is on grass I use cleats. I just got over a nasty sprained a...

The fighter practice here in Bhakail (Philadelphia) takes place in a recreation center and when its nice outside on the unused court. The class before we get the room is a some form of Kungfu. I was really impressed with it,alot of those guys are in intense shape.. I know in the summer time it must ...

I liked the Fall Crown of the east where the unbelts line up and pick their fight. It was great to test yourself against the best of the East on the first fight. I think for the amount of fighters we get in crown anything but double elim with either best 3 of 5 or best of 3 in the finals would take ...

I've come to expect most SCAdians to give you advice whether its asked for or not, just take it in and be thankful that they've taken the time to analze your fighting and want to help you improve your game. Trying new things out definitely gets you killed alot faster then your bread and butter techn...

I would like to know how people can read this post and not laugh. Unless there are real questions answered (who/what/where/when/why) then its just internet gossip, bullshit thats rolled downhill from a snowball to an avalanche. I am sure those who know the Chiv of the East will know that such a tact...

Hey well you live right up the road a barony or two from us down here in Bhakail. We've seemed to corner the market on them with all of three. 2 of which have just switched over. 1 of the newer madu guys has an african persona and it looks well with his kit with the way he shaped the shield. The oth...

I have no doubt in the years to come Nkante will one day be a Laurel for his dedication and research into his persona. He has shrugged off alot of easy side steps to keep his kit authentic and has made it through the rigorous standards to fight in the Warriors Of History tournament at Pennsic. There...

Theres a few from around here who are quite good with the Madu. These fighters are also good in other forms as well. As long as the weapon is allowed and its not causing a stir in terms of invincibility or there is a serious threat injury wise, I wouldn't call for it to be banned. Considering how ma...

We have the newer tops made from two pieces with the weld in the center. I've recently had to fix Horace's bars on his grill because it was getting too spread apart, aside from that i dont think he has much damage. I've got two nasty dents in my helm. 1 is clearly from balfar from last years norther...
