There is also an abandoned Catholic church in downtown Louisville that has had all the stainglass removed. I've dreamed of opening a resturant there, replacing the stained glass with images of monks imbibing and fat saints eating and calling it "Our Lady of Consumption"

Well I've only a few months left in the Midrealm, some of which will be traveling out of state and overseas for work. But it'd be great if a Peer would actually step up.

I'm working on a Hiberno-Norse tradesman living in Dublin in the year 1000AD. While I havnt found many available reproductions coming from finds in or near Dublin (or Ireland), I've guessed that tunic cuts and hardware would be similar or traveled in such a metropolitian area.

In the case of a gore set into a an open seam, you're in luck, because it's easier than setting into a slit. The directions in my article st...

I proved to myself once again that I suck at sewing gussets. I made an early Hood to wear at pennsic out of blue linen. Center Gusset looks puckered and crappy. Have you read my article on setting a gore into a slit ? I'm pretty sure that's what you mean when you say "center gusset". Chec...

I just bought a bunch of linen at 50% off so I'm working on some tunics and a hood for my first Pennsic. I've also started to build an entire head-to-toe outfit* that a Hiberno-Norse man would wear in the year 1000 while living in Dublin, complete with hand embroidery. I'm hoping to find some tablet...

Go with the French Press. You just have to have some hot water in a larger pot on the fire at all times, and viola, you have coffee. I lived off of my French Press (the Naglene bottle version) for a year in Iraq.

or you could modify a modern pop up tent/day shade. Make walls that slant and stake down like a regent. 80 bucks for the shade, another 100 probably for the fabric. plus you add more space by eliminaing the need for the center pole.

I have a friend that made his by strapping the leather breastplate on, jumping in the pool, and then laying out in the sun while it dried. Of course, he is built like Apollo, so it worked well.
