I have siome i made a doublet like in the woodcut. I wore hidden elbows and vams under my doublet the only problem i had was sometime the elbow plate would flipp to to inside of my elbow. I know the original reason they break crappy, but what about the hvy wood grain poles have any of those broken? I saw the abuse vidieo and they seem fairly sturdy and if they had a head on they so they were not the main point of impact i wonder if they would work. Plus they would be less whippy then...
