most major wars have gone to a 9' max and i have heard many reasons why this is. While i understand we do not have calibrated gauges we do not have very exact measurement to meet 11/4" 5/8" 2" 3" those are pretty easy. Marshals should check their gauges fairly often to make sure they are right because it is either a gauge or needs to be thrown away.

One of the things that will/does hinder a 360 rule is quite frankly people want to win to much. Get out on the field fighting for your king, kingdom, Lady, Lord, Household etc gets folks amp'd up put that together with the "it's War!" Attitude and people end up getting whacked overly hard....
