Re: Gaggle of Greathelms

I don't often make armor for money anymore, because it ALWAYS takes me longer than I expect it to. But when I'm making someone armor for free I kinda expect a bit of patients. Though I do understand kids will be kids lol.

Re: Otto's Armoury "celtic" helm

Odd. Think what you want, but your wrong. I could give a shit about the helm. What I give a shit about is all the archivers that he has screwed over, and is currently screwing over. And, the very, last, most extremely insignificant thing to me, is your opinion on how I moderate. I haven't been arou...

One does not lose the right to work just because one is in debt. True, but in the Real World if you have a product, and someone has paid you for that product, you don't generally get to offer it to someone else. yep, and if Otto was offering a stainless greathelm with modified nasel up for sale the...

Gaggle of Greathelms

Well, two of them anyway. My weekends work (still in need of some finishing work). Based on Talbots Von Prankh pattern. I cheat and weld them togeather, then go back and rivet after polishing cause I have found polishing around rivets to be a pain in the a$$. Anyway, these are 16 gage, intended for ...

Re: Otto's Armoury "celtic" helm

Otto has always done ok by me. I confess, he does not owe me anything or I might be less forgiving. That said, I have been there. Had a back log, and a couple people (I felt) made asses of themselves expecting my life to stop until I was caught up. The man still has to eat, pay bills, buy metal to M...

Re: 2 afternoon spangenhelm, maybe of interest to newbies?

I didn't recruit them, just helping them get into armor. We have some loaner gear, though nowhere near enough for 9 ppl. I try to get them into helms and hand protection, cause that seems to be the most cost prohibitive and hardest to make for oneself. I also get a lot of mileage out of wisby coat o...

2 afternoon spangenhelm, maybe of interest to newbies?

Fairly quick and dirty spangenhelm I made for a local Newbie. I cheated and welding in a couple places, but this helm can be made w/out welding. I just needed a hat fast but it would make a good first project I think.

That's actually workable. I must not have been looking at the right part of your page. What kind of turn around? What measurements do you need from me to make sure it fits the helm in question? And lastly, how would you prefer to be paid?

WTB welded chainmail avintail

Subject pretty much sums it up. Butted mail isnt getting the job done. I know riveted mail is more period, but is mostly out of my price range. Largish ring size and wire gage would be cool.

If no one else has suggested it, try whatshisname tolvdar or something like that (someone will come up with the correct spelling shortly I'm sure) he makes very solid hardened leather gauntlets that weigh very little. Or grettir the slow's spring steel gauntlets if you can afford them.

Griffinclaw,
in the interest of not having one of your crossbows fired at a black and white checky, you should hire clovenshield at pennsic next year. Lol the autocorrect on my phone keeps trying to make "pennsic" into "penis". That would have been embarrassing.
