Re: Starter bucket generation two
Patternweld,
Could I get back to you on that next week? That should see my starter bucket que caught up and my custom que either caught up or nearly so. I should be in a much better position to make a time estimate then.

Re: Fun with sheet metal
Getting it out was fun. You can't see it in the pic, but the long pointy part that went through my foot was attached to an about 6"X10" chunk. It made getting around very difficult, but the removal process was simple. Stand on chunk with right foot, hold breath and lift left foot straight up. Releas...

Starter bucket generation two
gen2sm.jpg As a result of some feedback (and trial and error for that matter) I have made a few changes in my starter bucket. One, they are pretty much all getting nasals cause they look awful without them. Two, I have had some complaints about insufficient space between the nose and the inside of ...

I ordered stock stuff (a couple of unwelded backpoint tops) and got them in just a few days. Never had problems getting stuff I order from rough from the hammer. Just this time I had a little trouble getting ahold of him to place the order.

Re: Spangen w/ brass (auction)
For me in this instance it was from rushing the helm. I was planning on selling it along with a few others at pennsic. The crease on the nasal is also slightly off kilter. Pretty much just the consequences for rushing my work.

I do not do chainmail myself. It simply requires more patients than I have. Be happy to share my spangen pattern with you however. Might be easier to mail you a poster board pattern than to try and scan it and print it to scale.

I have sent you a pm here, and an email to the email address in your profile. I had assumed from the tone of your post that you were feeling some urgency as to getting this resolved. The sooner you communicate with me, the sooner I can fix your problem.

Re: Reliable Armouries?
Icefalcon is ultra reliable, a little pricey, but he runs sales all the time which are great. I would submit that Icefalcon is not "pricey". Customers must pay for consistent quality *and* availability. You get both with Icefalcon, any time. I have also mentioned Ice Falcons prices in the past. I w...

Windrose, ice falcon, rough from the hammer, and iron monger all have fairly quick turnaround. Stone keep, and winter tree craft have some items ready to ship others take longer but they will tell you up front what's going on. Accdntprone, and hjmlr both make solid budget helms. Accdntprone will te...

Yep, if you can afford it riveted is much better (doesn't snag on stuff as bad, doesn't shed rings, ect) and I think the flat rings look cool. I just don't have one cause I'm perpetually broke as shit

Wish I could help, I would love a set of your finger gauntlets. That said, I make a fair basinet but have never made any other kind of face for them, just the removable bar grill. Hope you find what you are looking for though.

Good job. My first helm (also a great helm) ended up looking like someone cut the top of a fire hydrant, added an eye slot and painted it black.....
