Re: for sale, mild steel "raven" sugarloaf
Lol should mention those little details... 12 gage mild steel top, 14 gage mild steel front and back, blackened 14 ga mild steel for the bird. Fit up to a 23.5" head (be mindful of nose room if you have an extra large nose) I would really like to see $300 for it, but will listen to offers. Shipping ...

Re: 110 vs 220 mig
Yep. My 110 welder only has a rocker switch for voltage control (high and low) and even on low I blow holes in anything thinner than 16 gage. Whereas my buddies miller (220) has a rheostat that allows me to dial voltage back to the point that I can run a nice bead on 22 gage. (shielding gas over flu...

wanted to buy, hardened leater vambracers
Working on reducing weight on my kit (not to mention my person). Im going to keep using the same 3 pc elbows but I want to scrap my old steel vambraces for hardened leather. Wouldn't mind replacing my legs with the same.

Re: other three helms for sale, free delivery at Pennsic :)
I had kinda picked a 3 on 1 fight with some folks in the house I fight with, the stakes being the other sides bar tab. I didn't intend to loose, but needed to make sure I could cover my bet just in case.

My Opinion On Egg And Dark Victory (Many Here Will Disagree), They Are Ok For Practice. If They Let You Start Playing And Learning, Great. I Wouldn't Be Caught Dead At An Event In Them. Just My Opinion.

Re: other three helms for sale, free delivery at Pennsic :)
I use an old weber grill. Build a fire in it using whatever charcoal is cheap. I run a metal tube into the bottom of the grill through one of its vents, and attach my little air compressor to the metal tube. Once the fire is burning good I turn on the air compressor to hot up the fire, set the helm ...

I have seen bluing kits for sale at local gun shops, but I have no idea how well it would hold up to being hit with a stick. Perhaps someone else here knows?

Re: feeling like the kit needs to change
I do sca heavy. While I would LIKE to do BOTN, I would create an entirely different kit for it should I ever get the chance to give it a try. I don't cut weight on helms, the mass of a helm is part of what protects your head. Im thinking arms and legs are places I could save some weight, and I want ...

feeling like the kit needs to change
Im reaching a point in my life where I really don't like carrying 80 pounds of metal around, but Im also not ready to just give up and do the bad garb over plastic pajama warrior thing. And to be honest the only things Im much good at making are helms and articulated joints. Persona is Scottish, mos...

Im thinking $225. (that's assuming you want the cross in steel like in the pic. I can do brass for the cross but my supplier is kinda hit or miss and if I have to order it it costs a ton)
