Re: death by starter bucket
14 ga mild. I don't usually do "options" on the starter buckets. Perhaps you would consider one of my Norse spangenhelms? Or if you are dead set on a starter bucket with a full bargrill you would be looking at $115 plus shipping. (full bargrill is 6 - 7 bars usually, depending on your measurements)

rivets....
Any place to get solid steel round head rivets other than R.J. Leahy or McMaster carr? I order 2 pounds of 1/8" rivets from R.J. Leahy for $14.50, then spend another $17.30 to ship them. Same kinda thing with McMaster car. Its funny, I can ship a 10-12 pound helm across the country for $25, but it c...

Re: So my armour got stolen...
One problem off the top of my head, there is a LOT of icefalcon stuff out there. May make it hard to distinguish (especially from a little ebay pic) you stuff from someone elses. Still, best of luck. Hope you get the chance to beat the living hell out of these armor bandits.

Re: death by starter bucket
Price is still at $75, for any order placed before pennsic. Up to a few months on the turn around at this point however. Still plan to have a few helms AT Pennsic, if anyone wants to try that rout. The plan is to have a sugarloaf, a couple norse spangens, and a couple starter buckets. That's the PLA...

That is one pretty hat. I can't buy it, that's two house payments. Plus how can I expect other people to trust there heads to my helms if I won't wear one myself? But DAMN that is one pretty hat. Oh well, at least I don't have to worry about running out of stuff to learn in metalworking any time soo...

While my starter buckets seem to get the most attention, I do some nicer helms as well. Pretty booked up just now, but will be looking for some custom orders to fill up the off season.

Ah. Perhaps after you have had a chance to get tired of this one I can swap you another for it? As I said, I mostly just want to look it over, see how it has held up. Looks like its doin ok. Wonder how many times it has changed hands?

Re: Sugarloaf mild auction
Hmm. On the one hand It would be cool to have a look at a helm I made 10-12 years ago. On the other hand Im not sure how much I can afford to pay for the privilege. Plus I don't need the helm (I'm assuming you do?) I would really like a chance to look it over though.

The Valsgarde helm is beautiful. I would love to know more about how its made. Also the brass (or bronze?) work, is that something you do yourself? If so, would you care to explain just how?

Re: another starter bucket
I like the look of this too :) Hmmmm.... seriously considering it.... curious about something... would it be possible to have the bars vertical rather than horizontal? Not really on a starter bucket. The facial opening is short so that I don't have to do as many bars (thus less labor, thus cheaper)...

Morgan,
Ok, email me some measurements. I need around the head at browline and from the top of the ear straight down till you reach shoulder. Or if they are for loaner helms let me know that and Ill make them generic large.

Re: another starter bucket
Starter buckets are $75 till pennsic, then going up to $90 (sorry for the price increase, but its $15 in mats and 6-8 hours work so I kinda have to) I do other spangens with a full bar grill, the starter bucket has a short bargrill to make it easier thus cheaper. So yeah, I can put a full bar grill ...

Re: My shop! My shop! My shop is here! :D
One wall (the short wall opposite the door) has a work bench on its full length already, but it is so lightly built that I doubt it would survive a days work. Im trying to decide now if I should rip it out, or just build a real workbench along one of the long walls and save the other thing for a sto...
