Thanks for the split-ring tip!
I should actually be able to add a small diamond shaped gusset using that method.

I received the package today. The fit is *VERY* close... as in its a lil tight but I can make it work, especially if I loose another 10 lbs.
I'm wondering if they all have a unsealed hole in the armpit though?
LDWalter12 can you PM me so we can discuss & complete the sale?

Thank you Frank.
The mink oil in tallow base has penetrated and dried so its getting flaky in spots. I need to glycerin clean them then hit it all with a boar bristle brush.
Were you ever able to use/adjust the Bazuband pattern? I'd love to see your prototypes.

Halvgrimr, Re: 10th century Rus. One of the primary trade staples of the Rus were their fine blades. Known to be able to be bent nearly in half and simply straightened without damage. This indicates a blade with a soft yet springy core and a harder edge which means welded construction and differenti...

The gorget pictured is a hot water cased (means its hardened enough to hold shape but is not considered hardened) leather gorget and has not yet been padded. How large is your neck? It should fit up to 17 1/2" neck with 1/4" closed cell foam in it. If you believe it will fit you I will throw it in f...

Thank you for the offer. I purchased the helm for close to that then put several hours of time & materials into refurbishing it.
At $200 I am making exactly $5.00/Hr. for my time invested and covering materials.

LDWalter12,
If I covered shipping both directions, would you be willing to do a moneyback deal if yours didn't fit me? I figure it'd fit into a medium flat rate so I'm willing to loose $20 something to save over cost of new + wait.

The Swords for that movie were made by the late Jody Samson. I can't find them right now but there were several interviews with him in which he discusses those scenes. He worked with Albion for years before he passed away suddenly and unexpectedly.

There are a few very good reasons why the billet is that thick. First he is doing edge welds. The surface area of contact allows him to stick the weld the first time, as well as the greater mass holding the welding heat longer. Second he is working with a powerhammer. By retaining thickness he is co...
