Re: Long term storage of stock armour
Hi, For instock stuff I use motor oil on the armor, and I keep a piece of plastic or paper over the shelf to keep water or mist from settling on it. I live in Wa state so we are under water here for 9 months of the year. The plastic or paper cover on the shelf makes a huge difference. Ty Pb This + ...

I've got to admit you are mostly right. I guess I'll have to call it a lesson in expensive nostalgia.

Meh guess no one wants it. I've been offered a few trades for it but nothing I really need.
Its obvious people are looking but this is discouraging. I don't want to take 3rd world wages for the hours I put into this to make it nice again.

Excellent thread so far. I've solved this issue with non period approaches for tapering helm shapes similar to this in the past. Being able to see and hear others experiences and solutions for a period liner is making me more confident in patterning & making a period liner to sew into my own bascine...

For clarity, I did not CALL for a R&D.... I speculated that his actions very well could end up in an R&D. At the very least I'd bet there will be a CoC. By representing the SCA in a poor light, in public media, he has actually violated the directive on media relations.

I sure hope Brand is reading this... I personally knew someone who fell afoul of the first "whoops" from Brand. They chose to walk away from it rather than fruitlessly pursue him. That Cuirass is pretty kick ass... almost has a Spanish or Portuguese flair to it. Also please don't forget that, if you are not using pasteurized honey, do not boil the honey or use Iodophor/Sulphites, it retains its natural, powerful, anti bacterial properties.
The Romans, among other cultures, used Honey as a wound dressing to prevent infection.
