Re: Sword fittings.

You have a bare blade that needs to be mounted then?

It would help to know what type/style the blade is and what kind of grip & furniture you want....

Pictures will certainly help here.

Re: Help me save my hearing?

The budget minded should also consider another excellent vibrational dampner..... Fringe. Glue a strip of leather inside with contact or barge cement, just above the bottom most curve and leave a 1/2 - 3/4 cut fringe hanging. If you wanted to get fancy you could do a leather drape with studs or cuto...

Kenshin, It would be easier to give you advice if you both told us what area you are in, as well as what you use an anvil for? A leatherworker needs an anvil that is far different than what is needed for a blacksmith and while a bladesmith may use a good Blacksmith's anvil, the same one would suck f...

Can you PM me info on the belt grinder? I need another one for the shop. I need brand, motor power & voltage, size (2x 72, 2 x 48 ect) plus if there is anything extra or missing such as workrest/platen/contact wheels/extra belts. I'd normally JUMP on that KA 75 but shipping from TN would be killer.....

Yup, convex bevel. Not quite the same as a Katana, Tachi, Ken... those are scraped with a sen, then finished with progressive grades of stones. The lines are different too, with a Japanese blade having set proportions for Mune, Hi, Shinogi, Koshinogi, Boshi & Yokote. I guess the closest would be a Y...

That's not a headgear helmet, it's just some scraps I taped together to show the helmet fits. The helmet does have an underarmour chincup though. I'm sad to say the smallest head I'd recommend for the helmet would be 23.5 -23.75 I'm 23.75-24.00 and it's a lil large but doable in fit. This would be a...

Think of that 5 ton like a spiffy arbor press. You won't be forging with it but it can do all kinds of bending, embossing, upsetting and even cutting with block dies. If it is a bench top model, with a simple die set, they rock for doing riveted mail.
