Already offered him a ride.... I'll pass right by his area on the way... Only concern is wether or not he's a minor. If so I must have parental permission and meet his parents/guardians. We need to make sure that Chris is ok with minors at the shop as well because there's a strong chance his insuran...

This sale is pure torture to me.

If only those pebbled ones were a size 11 or even a 10 1/2 and not size 10...... I'll be patient and wait for the hobnailed ones to become availible.

medieval marketplace turned out to be miserable for sales for everyone. Many Merchants didn't even make a single sale. Even then it was fun and I got to meet new folks and have fun playing medieval. A welded helmet bowl and the sword fittings were all I sold. Had tons and tons of folks "oooh an...

Re: First video of my powered hammer.

Nice..... 2 things come immediately to mind. First is a potential safety thing.... add a upside down "U" to the top of the hammer so when the leafspring eventually fails, it doesn't flip forward and scoop your brains like a 2 minute egg. Second, think about moving the whole motor assembly ...

Dafydd, Thank you for the thought but please don't hold it. You missed my point. I wasn't calling the machine made stuff banal.... I was calling the folks who can't tell or appreciate the difference banal. It wasn't Hal's fault that the customer walked away. You folks are correct, it's a very very small market segment and not one that you can make a living f...

Halberds, Take heart. It took you 60 hours because you did just about everything by hand. There are people who appreciate the difference and are willing to pay for it.... its just a narrower market. When I scrape in a fuller by hand, it looks different than when I use a die on the press. It also tak...

15th/16th Cent. Brigandine & other stuff

I recently hammered a deal on this Brig for my late 15th Century kit. It doesn't fit me. 48" chest over pourpoint MAX 42-44"" for medieval, not modern waist size. Its never been fought in, has a couple minor scuffs. High grade and thickness leather shell, shoulder reenforcement, heavy...

It might bear mention... if you use a very small diameter drill and drill the ends of the cracks to prevent running....
There is a very low temp HARD solder called TIX that will permanently fill the cracks and polish up seamlessly.

Or go to the dollar store and buy a HDPE cutting board.....

Essentially what you are doing is making a sharpened, beefed up, cookie cutter.
