Re: AUCTION - Stainless Shamrock helm
Problem looks to be that there is no practical way to install a 3 point strap, that will pull in line with the jaw, preventing that cheekplate contact and eliminating the need for padding the cheeks.

Re: Critique My SCA Kit
Swansman I think your kit is really kickin some rear... I am however Biased. I'd add rondels to the knee kopfs to balence the look, maybe shorten the belt as suggested. I like how your overall look is early transitional, I'd almost expect to see a visored sugarloaf rather than the bascinet, although...

This is some sexy steel! Question? Are you planning to add a mustache to it, say out of horsehair or similar? Cause a German doesn't look right w/o facial hair.

Don't forget Eikbrandr at http://www.eldesar.com/ His aluminum lamellar plates ROCK. both in quality & price. Calontir Trim's plates in stainless or brass are also awesome, especially when you get the center ridge on them, which I don't think anyone else does. Jamie @ Polarbear forge also has a supe...

Then why not leather cover a traditional back brace? Hell people convert the things into hidden SCA armour all the time.

Lorica isn't going to give him any meaningful support because the overlapped bands were designed to flex.
Suggest to him a big wide "viking" belt with an extended "backsaddle" to give him some support.

F/S or F/T - Blackhorse Armoury Helmet
Maybe a better title should be "Grimr can't keep nice things." This Helmet was made by Master Armourer & Jouster, Bart Remling. This particular helmet was used on the Modern Marvels "Built by Hand" episode!! and can even be seen in the promotionals for the show. I aquired this helmet directly from B...

Re: Where to go now?
sorry if this is a bit incoherent. Its ok... we all remember our first pint. On a more serious note. If you want to be a professional Armourer you will need to open a shop and start making armour. Find a market & fill the need. Also be prepared to live in poverty or in your parent's basement for mo...

Re: Period Helmet liners/ KWT are in stock
I need a period liner for my bascinet. I just want to be 100% certain that I am not going to get a concussion using one. Are we talking these will allow you to take polearm hits BoN style? As long as these will be good for wearing while getting smacked around in a 14 guage stainless bascinet I'd lik...

Wouldn't a better solution be having this pressure extrusion molded into a kevlar sleeve?

Here in Caid such shirts are punch tested and approved on a case by case basis... Here in Esperance such shirts are good to play out of the box... I got a used tunic here on the AA from a fellow archiver. It was an older shirt that had torn a little in the armpits. I replaced the broken links with s...
