I will point out that none of my orders have contained a Pen or any other kind of Viking swag.

I expect a Bottle of Scottish single malt with the next order.

Re: Will the BoTN change the SCA:s HF game?

would it be bad to point out that there is a sizable group that has existed for a while, that fights live steel, allows thrusting and whose combat conventions closely resemble SCA? The only difference I've seen so far is the power of the blows. The Empire of Adria SCA folks tend to marginalize it be...

So then I assume the idea is to get fine control anywhere in the upstroke or downstroke?

If so then this design can be used as a striking hammer too?

Re: Debut Novel

Hey as long as novel #2 doesn't take you 10 years to write.... some of us don't have that long.

Will you be doing any signings? If so, where?

Are there E-book options for those who won't shell out $24.95 for a hardcover?

So you are only using the piston to power the upstroke then allowing the cam to assist the exhaust cycle?

I thought you were redoing it as a Kinyon style, sorry!

Here's the skinny on epoxy paint. Its usually sold as Stove paint, Cold Enamel, Marine paint etc also as the paint/sealer used on garage floors. If you go that route check your local Sherwin Williams. Specialty crafts stores like Michaels may also carry it under different names. My personal choice f...

WHAT AN AWESOME HORN!

Love the Enamel but recommend epoxy based paint so it will stand the test of time.

This technique applied to a black horn would be all sorts of awesomesauce.

Re: railroad stuff

I agree with Jamie to a point. If you can't determine the quality of the steel it's best not to make a knife from it. Where I do disagree is that all RR knives are bad and the steel inferior. After all, many very well performing, Japanese blades were and are made from steel that has no better perfor...

This is what I have been waiting for I'm interested in the Ginormihorn. Re: Polar Bear forge rocks!

Sounds like I should explain for benefit of Jamie & Thaddeus ... The reason I want a rubber treaded drive wheel is simple. As any grinder ages, it will need periodic "tune ups". Belt tracking will wander some over time. This is partially controlled by a "crowned" wheel. It doesn't take much, just a ...

Jester, Since you ask I am going to give you my opinion. I don't think anything but wrought iron is analogous to wrought iron. Steel doesn't work the same, doesn't weld at the same temperature, doesn't look like wrought iron. You will loose carbon in the fire, not add it unless you are carbon packin...

Lucian, The one thing I wasn't able to gather was if you wanted a polished, sharp, ready to mount blade or if you wanted one completed with a plain wood or bone handle. So as I understand, you wanted a 7-10" blade of the Anglo Saxon type, 1084 or 5160 steel. Unmounted, convex ground & heat treated, ...
