I use street hockey gloves in EGG gauntlets. The fingertips are stitched to holes in the edge of the gauntlet, as is the thumb. Using the same heavy thread (made for stitching leather), I ran several passes back and forth as a strap across the palm and across the second joint of the fingers (midway)...

Alongside the "too heavy to mount the horse" myth, the "you can't run in full plate" myth. Scared crap out of newspaper photographer because he insisted I couldn't run very fast towards him for a photo. Then I did, screaming at the top of my lungs. http://www.armourarchive.org/ubb/biggrin.gif ------...

I actually like the intent behind this (Shock, I know). I have a couple of questions, to clarify things a bit- How much effort is considered "good faith" to hide such things as a plastic body harness? Will there be actual standards? The only visible plastic I currently fight with are my gauntlets. S...

I made the one from TI, and although it may be partly the builder, I'm not too happey with it. The hinges so it can fold up make it sway when armor is on it, hard to make stable when camping. I'm going to make a couple of hatrack typres. ------------------ Owen "Death is but a doorway- Here, let me ...

Even on many polearms, I think "butt spike" is a bit of a misnomer; it's simply a way under the rules for us to use the butt end as a weapon. We can't butt-stroke you with it http://www.armourarchive.org/ubb/frown.gif but we take what we can get. ------------------ Owen "Death is but a doorway- Here...

Strains of cannabis sativa that are used to produce hemp produce almost zero THC, the active componant of marijuana. According to Hemptraders.com, prior to the 1980s it was pretty much restricted to industrial use due to the inability of processors to remove the lignin (plant glue holding the fibers...

My butted mail is heavier than I'd like, but it does offer protection over and above the hard stuff I wear under it. There are still a number of areas that are only covered by the mail and minimal padding (back of the shoulders, butt, upper thighs, etc), but it protects them better than nothing at a...

Try throwing with your hand further back on the shaft. Fins might help, or trail a piece of ribbon as a stabilizer. Biggest problem I have is throwing while wearing gauntlets, my hand doesn't open the same way as it would unencumbered, and it tends to alter the throw. ------------------ Owen "Death ...

Depends on which bone and where. Ribs will almost certainly not break again in the same place, neither will the bones of the arm. The femur IS weaker, mostly due to needing a plate to heal it in most cases. The orbit should be stronger right where it broke, assuming everything is put back where it s...
