I found the same thing in my brief forray into Trimaris from the East. If I had known you were down there when I was I would have looked you up-we could have made fun of the way people talk together just like back in New England (I used to love making folks visiting pronounce Worcester and Peabody )...

Shipping can be quite unreliable- this summer I had several things shipped to me via ups. Most of them arrived with little to no problems but a bridle I ordered never came. UPS was convinced that it did but I was home when it would have arrived and the dogs always knew if a rabbit tried to creep up ...

I use centergripped rounds and strapped kites. I love them both but tend t reach for the kite when I want to win. Its what I learned on and have the most muscle memory with. Rob(in) on the archive made the transition you are talking about as did D Sebastian I think- they may be able to give you some...

I first started playing in the SCA almost twenty years ago in the part of the East that was to become Aethelmarc. I started out fencing and was pretty good at it, qualled everything pretty quick, showed some talent and natural ability ect. Then I started heavy-same story. Did both for a while til li...

I do a viking/rus persona. I fight primarily with a sword and standard Northern Army kite shield now, sometimes great axe, sometimes polearm, sometimes greatsword, sometimes sword and 24-30 inch centergrip round. In mellees sometimes spear too. I'm pretty good with all of the above. These are my pri...

I'm pretty used to wearing boots with smooth soles at the barn- my riding boots are also my work boots- my Ariats have a slick rubbery sole and my Frye boots have a leather sole. I can do farmwork, ride, and do groundwork with horses in them with no problem in all weather and conditions. That being ...

If I hit someone and they don't take it, I never question it. I hit harder, cleaner, change my targeting, whatever. it is up to them to call a good shot and if it wasn't called, I did something wrong. Really its up to me in the end to do them the honor of hitting them with sufficiant force and techn...

Ernst, Yes, I think tow would be what I am looking for. Tasha, I'm not looking for heavy padding, light to medium would do- do you reckon layered linen would do what I want it to in your experience? If so, that would be muche easier to come by. Will pick your brain in more detail later Tahnks! Drefan

linen batting?
does anyone know where I could get linen batting for a gambeson?
Athother question- if I can not get linen batting, has anyone tried layered linen quilted together for a gambeson. I'm looking for some cushion, not tons so a thick garment is not what I need in either case.
Thanks!

Exposed plastic-what can we do about it?
THIS IS NOT TO START A FLAME WAR-FLAMERS AND TROLLS NOT WELCOME-THIS IS FOR INTELLIGENT, PROACTIVE CONVERSATION! So, I was at a regional practice this weekend and had a blast. I also saw some great kits and even some newer fighters making a legitimate effort at presentation. This makes me happy. How...

I don't quite agree with the above advice- I would take a different aproach. One- what are people using most around you? What do you almost never see in the region you are practicing? Likely you will progress better using the dominant form in the area because more people know how to use it and can g...
