Personaly, I am not a big fan of them. That being said, I do respect a presentation done well of any time/culture. In other words, I`m not wild about the choice of persona but impressed when they are done well and can respect the heck out of the effort.

I use the stainless plates that White Mountain Armory carries and am quite happy with them. They are twenty gauge and of a good, tough alloy.

As far as I know, the D style plates are offered only by White Mountain Armory.
I do highly recomend them-I have a vest made from them myself and I love it.
