If I can make it to Pennsic, it would be my honor to fight with the English again if they will have me. My strongest wish is to finally have the English be victorious at least once. Plus being able to fight along side Eadric and Master Magnus and of course our most honorable leader Johannes is a de...

If I am in fit state to take up arms I would, of course, stand with the forces loyal to Edward Plantagenet lawful King of England and France against those worthy but misguided souls who cast their lot with the Valois pretender. Your strong arm would be most welcome. Think we can talk Manfred out of...

I use a shovel rivet through the holes and fill any extra gap with wood or rattan wedges driven into the space (with a little white glue). I have not had much trouble with breakage, but I tend to view my swords as expendable.

Combat of Thirty '08 News and Recruitment

Well, I have been home for 8 hours or so from Gulf Wars and still inspired by the look on Ceddie's face after the Deed there, so thought it was time to start thinking (and talking) about the COTT for Pennsic this year. First, A bit of news: Count Rhys has officially ruled himself out as a captain fo...

The Windrose ones are actually a conglomeration of parts from the Mandrake ones and my own. We kept the parts that worked from each. The extra lame was added to fix a problem I had with my own set of Mandrake gauntlets, that they did not close completely and the final bit of movement was being taken...

I think Lothar and I might be able to come up with something, we both made it at one time or another. The version i remember was actually a liqueur, even though it tasted meadlike.

We went to new stainless a couple years ago, and I bought enough for a year or two. The last time I ordered (a few months ago) the price had basically tripled. I never liked using scrap because it is so hard to be sure of what you get, but it isn't even available to us anymore.

I just wish the stickers were smaller than a file folder. Marshals have been pretty understanding about my desire to put the sticker somewhere unobtrusive (or easy to clean), but when it is the size of a small country there isn't much to be done.

They do, but a smith who knows what he is doing can do it better in a very small amount of time, and do it a lot cheaper.
