OK, that sounds reasonable to me. Chef, your mistaking this for a really simple project just means we did it right. I hate it when a customer can tell I spent a ton of time on something like this. The real ones were very simple, the SCA one should at least look that way. Marcus, Got your PM. Get wi...

You're right, Chef, that guy must be crazy. It isn't as simple as it looks would be my defense on the pricing, combined with the cost of the welded aventail. Without the mail, the helmet would be $415, still a lot for a mild steel helmet until you account for the step we put into the back plate to c...

Estrella: Breast Cancer Fundraiser New Pic Added

As many who attended Last Year's Estrella War know, there is a tournament held to raise funds to help in the fight against Breast Cancer. We offered to build a prize for this year's tournament and are pleased to be able to give a small preview of the helmet we are donating to the cause. They raised ...

I'm with Cet, Windrose has been having trouble with the people who made those up for them and don't have any in stock. We do have the standard cast ones though. The only place to get the ones we had was through us, we had them made up specially for us, and as soon as I can get a place to make them a...

Keeps the time and energy committed to it down but allows people who REALLY are attached to their shield to participate. So, you think maybe 16 counted attempts, the most truly struck blows is the victor? That would b...

Ingvar, she is looking for a dished or spun shield, not a simple curve. Teleute, it occured to me this morning that we should be able to cut a 26 inch spun shield down to whatever size you want, it will just lose some depth as it gets smaller and cost slightly more ($15 for the cutting and finishing...

Ron, It's funny, I often feel the same way about Estrella. It takes 5 months of preparation and we have a huge numnber of people who really only participate in order to go there. During the spin up they show up only for war practices, the other 7 months they don't exist anywhere at all SCA wise. We ...

The inserts we were using were pultruded to the OD of the ID of the spear shaft. If there is any slop it significantly reduces the life of the spear. We got it in 10 foot lengths and cut it to size, but the supplier changed the minimum order to a lifetime supply.
