Re: Fighters Fighting at an Unofficial Practice (no Marshal)
Authorized marshals aren't required to be members, as well. I talked to my regional marshal and he was of the opinion that if the rapier marshal is a warranted marshal for rapier, that should be sufficient for the rattan, but that it would be a good idea to check with your own KEM.

Re: Fighters Fighting at an Unofficial Practice (no Marshal)
This may be an IKA thing, but why doesn't your local Knight Marshall appoint someone else who is an authorized marshall to run the practice? That is what is done here when the KM can't make a practice. I've asked Asoph (SEM) this question, but he's at Pennsic, so we might not find out for a while. ...

Re: Fighters Fighting at an Unofficial Practice (no Marshal)
Shortened version: To be an official event/activity, it has to be published (Official practice will be...), and a warranted marshal, or an authorized marshal and a warranted officer (like a seneschal) must be present. If the warranted officer cannot be there, the official practice is cancelled, and ...

Re: Experience with professional heat treating shops?
I'd use stainless nuts&bolts, that way you don't have to worry about contamination with zinc, etc. It is a good idea to bolt them together, both to control warpage, and to make sure pieces stay together. When we send gauntlets through, the nuts often vibrate loose, apparently, and sometimes there ar...

That is not a freon can helm. Freon cans are large, round, and have bumps on the bottom so that they will stand up.

It is probably the compressor housing from a large home AC.

6AM-9PM, 5 indicators My guess would be a work schedule of some sort. When particular people were to show up, or something like that. I think I'd put the sword at 16thC based on the guard, I'll look at one of my books, I may be off. Crude, but I've seen that construction (overlapped bars for the guard, forge welded) before.
