This view into the lid shows how wide the seam of the lining had gotten in drying. It was like this before I put the cover layers on, so I am not really surprised that I came to have trouble.[/img] Mac It probably takes some experience with the process (and noting that it isn't a precise formula wi...

Take pictures of their house when you pick it up, or the license plate of their car, if you can, with your phone. Print the Craigslist listing. It is bound to be local, it isn't expensive enough to be worth fencing cross country. Just buy it now, or it will be lost when everyone nearby starts asking...

I would expect that to fray some, but it will take a good while. The finer the weave/thread, the less it will fray. Cut with the grain (warp or weft), and it will fray less than cutting on the bias- you are cutting twice as many fibers on the bias.

My thought is that to get anything approaching useable you would need to cast, and then forge it to remove the porosity, which pretty much just means that all the effort in casting was wasted effort.

Very impressive!
By the way, I have a few of these, and would like to know how they are attached to a belt. I'm not sure if they go on a cloth or leather belt, or anything else.

You won't have forgotten everything you know, but it will take some time to remind your body of that fact.
Expect to suck for a bit, compared to where you were. It takes time to get back up to speed.
So what?

Re: Recommended glove for gauntlets?
Most gloves, even those with large cuffs (like TIG gloves) will not have cuffs large enough to go over vambraces. I second roping gloves, they are often of deerskin (thinner), or elk (thicker, but longer lasting). Shepler's in Wichita used to carry them in rather specific sizes and they will fit you...

These troops also were the only ones the Roman historians noted as being able to break the Roman line, while using 2 handed swords from horseback. I'd say that they thought the weight and heat were a good trade off. ;) ".. But no sooner had the first light of day appeared, than the glittering coats ...

Re: Why don't Squires exist?
I find it very funny that so many people are vociferous about squires not being a rank. I've lived in 5 kingdoms and while squire is not a de jure rank, it certainly is a de facto one. It might only be due to the idea that this person with a red belt has the ear of a person with a white belt, who h...

Re: Why don't Squires exist?
I have seen "Squire" used as a rank in terms of a pecking order for different events. Regardless of the relationship it is used as a rank. No, not really. A squire can be a brand new fighter who doesn't even own enough gear to armor up, and he can have just won his first Crown, as well as anywhere ...
