Some more "scribal stuff" I have done. 1) 2011 Spring Crown (Atlantia) Roll of Arms: It is based on 15th century engraving of the personal arms of Charles the Bold. The B&W line drawing is also available through the gallery on the below link. It was also featured on the July 2011 Acorn cover (Atlant...

Look at what comes up with SCA music video. m Whats wrong with the first one? That was her first SCA event just like mine. Like me she was motivated and enthusiastic and made a video. Mine is a little different but does include some photos I took of the event. Type in SCA Tribute and mine come up f...

Re: Need pics of sca legal mongol helmets
because when you pad the cheeks right you get locked into the helmet and it provides a more solid padding system then a chin strap, safest type of helmet i have ever fought in. That's what I do for my helm...it is a "different" feeling and I say that cuz Im used to chin straps from wearing...

Hello! I want to show off my most recent piece of artwork. It was loads of fun and I had to learn some bookbinding in order to do this as well as the book chemise. I did some minor researching prior to but in all it took me 3 months roughly from brainstorm to finished end. I collaborated with severa...

To stick with the "theme" Ive got running I would prefer English but it can be in Latin (it would need to have "religious" substance to the wording and can fit for "Use of Rome" part of the source Im recreating).

14C Poem Needed for a Project
Greetings! I am in search of historical short poem (less than 50 words or so) that would work great for a peerage scribal project Im doing. I am looking to fill some space on my page so it will lead into the actual award text. If it matters, it is for a woman. I would prefer something historical or ...

Ive tried to do a search of Scriptoriums that had illuminations with candles or wax. Here are my results....also consider the art of encaustic painting. 13c Byzantine painting - shows shield grip
Really struck me as a neat painting to be able to see the inside of the shield. I think it is rare to see the shield grip in general so I thought I'd share it.

Something to consider before adding metal tips to strips of leather... How much will those strips move ? A metal tip on a strip of leather has potential for being quite painful when it swings about and hits like a whip. Something mounted on the leather similar to a modern concho has less of this po...

That helm is definitely sexy (and, it was great to meet you Rohesia! ) Did you decide to put a little more padding in? I'm debating about how I am going to do it. I have a round piece of camp foam at the very top and the rest is a slightly softer camp foam. I've thought about cutting up my yoga mat...
