As is my way I keep working through certain failure, here is the new bevor, but I think I will need to do it again to give my head some room in the crown. Also I moved the helm further up and back on my head. Then I used photoshop to trim some excess off the back, If that modification works I think ...

I have always found it funny that most people look at my "scrap box" and find usable helmets and other bits of armour that I thought were worthless. I agree about ornamentation, I will probably accept this close helm has fallen short of the true shape but I will flute it and finish it all the same f...

Thanks! I am learning how to make this type of helm Im not attached to the physical object. I have a masters degree in fine art I am used to harsh criticism especially when it makes me better at what I am doing. I think I am developing a new pattern I will draw it out and post what I do

given the pronounced comb of these early close helms would you suggest I push the hemisphere further in on the neck to mimic the more exaggerated comb or turn this into a later period close helm or burgonet and start over?

The photoshop trick is pretty helpful I use it allot to layout helm profiles. I think the bevor is all wrong at this point I have already remade it. I have really been working on the skull shape and it is definitely comfortable but not quite period looking. I have tried hammering it out from inside ...

Ya, I left it out in the shop and some water got in it. When I turned it on this morning it shorted out on me, it looks like at least two diodes and a hand full of resistor burned out sooooo..... I need a new one
