I can respect that 400 is a good amount of money and I know not everyone can swing it. Hell, thats the reason I started armouring to begin with but Im just glad that people like my work enough to buy something with that type of price tag.

Hey Folks I turned this on the ol' lathe today . Its a 4/4 so it may be big but when I was learning to play and this was the student violin the place I was taking lessons at suggested. I paid 340 for it new and It seems like a good starter.

As far as the length goes I made a weird bearing set up to eliminate the flex on longer spindles so Im pretty confident I can turn the handle on a long sword like that and carve the blade... but not having done it maybe I should be more cautious haha. I can put any quillions on it I gue...

Hmmm well I have not tried it but I can turn up to a 4 or 4 and a half foot piece on my machine... As far as other styles I have thought about it but I find those look better carved with a ball turned on the end and I do not have a radius cutter. I could turn a handle on a piece or rattan for a seax...
