The CoP at the Metropolitan is a complete fabrication, it was assembled by the first curator Bashford Dean who was trained as an ichthyologist strangely enough. The red fabric is rumored to have been the curtains from his office but that is unsubstantiated hehe.

I am making a sword and I would like to find an antler for the handle. It would have to be 1.25-ish at the base with a taper to an inch or so over a 4" length. Can anyone out there help?
