A lot of suppliers will only work B2B or business to business. That is why I got an Employee ID Number (US). This allows me to do transactions with business suppliers. Essentially cutting out the middleman and saving markup.

Beverly Shear Review and Recommendations

After using my B1, B2 and B3 for some time now (and to avoid people asking me the same questions over and over again) I feel that I should post a review. Allot of people ask me what the best shear for the job is, well here is my humble opinion on each model: B1 - 14ga mild and 18ga stainless: This s...

Master Geoffrey sells a very good Wisby CoP Kit for cheap. I believe he will sell them complete, also.

I have the following to say about each model: B1 - a bit too light for SCA armouring work. While it cuts tight radiuses, you will be pushing the shears limits and causing undo wear and tear to parts and blades if you repeatedly cut anything thicker that 16/14ga mild and 18ga tougher metals, ie. stai...

Good work! However, they look to flat. I would suggest dishing the knuckle area. Use a ball pein hammer to dish, then planish, sand and finish. And then do something with the cuff. Remember, there are aren't too many two dimensional surfaces in armour. Almost everything contains a compund curve. Mak...

If you want a brass look, phosphor bronze or something of that nature might do the trick. I remember someone telling me that phosphor bronze is a fairly strong alloy.

Brass would not be a good thing. For SCA use, that is.

In my experience, the rotary/ratchet style punches are slower than the scissor style, by a long shot. I can get through MANY more holes with a 7.5 or 8 much quicker than with a #10. I just don't like them. Much prefer a #8 mounted in a vise. Quick and painless (unless you smash your fingers in betwe...

I used to do bodywork. Most of the tools used for bodywork are too light. They only beat on VERY thin sheetmetal, for the most part.

I have not found too many, in my extensive tool collection, that cross over.

I use one of those on occassion to cut out smaller sheets of thinner gauge. The one I have access to works pretty crappy on anything thicker than 18ga. Forget what they are called. I have heard the technical term before. Maybe I will remember.
