Raibeart: As we get further into production, the POSSIBILITY is there for other plate designs (lamellar, brig, scales, etc). However, we are currently only producing this style. I will try to take close-ups of the plates this evening. Everyone: This kit was worn in battle during GW and faired VERY w...

I often use a satin/brushed finish.

I use 3M Scotchbrite expander wheel belts from Eastwood.

The finish goes over great. Less upkeep than a high polish and takes only seconds do.

Most of the people in my shop spend time on the remedial stuff: Learning what the tools are and safety. Dishing, basic metal shaping/cutting.prepping and polishing/finishing. This is usually their own projects, however as they progress I will incorporate their new found skills into production work. ...

No way to tell if the bars are the min 1". I prefer 7/8", actually. It takes out any iffy-ness. OK, the bars on that helm are not supported. They will bend up and down with ease. All bars are of a different spacing, uneven. Without a close-up inspection you may very well be throwing away $150.00. Th...

I see only two SCA helms a "roudtop" and what they are calling a "sallet". Both grills look suspect. Hard to tell without wearing one first, however it appears that the bargrill is too short, may not be 1" min and is attached by brass rivets, a big no-no, not legal, IIRC. Also, no gauges are specifi...
