I called to purchase it first thing this morning and it was already gone. Sucks to be me.

Darn it.

I guess I will start my search for Mantova and/or Churburg.

Kyle, Kits may be an easy way to go. Master Geoffrey sells dirt cheap CoP kits that only need leather and rivetting together. I am not sure if anyone else offers these, but you could look around. Get a batch of them. Have a little gathering and hammer away on jiffy/tube/speed rivets. As for tools fo...

The kits are easily up-sized. All you do is have him add plate to the sides. That is not a problem. Give him your measurements and there should not be a problem.

Making a kata (form) for Kabuto construction.

I am planning on making a couple of different kabuto styles in the near future. In order to pattern these out, it would be best to have a form to work from. Now my question is, since I am a mental midget when it comes to the use of wood, how best would I go about this task? There are a couple of woo...

IIRC:

A period method of padding and protecting the kness and elbows was to wrap them with cloth.

Perhaps this would pass as "kneepads" and "elbowpads".

While I swear by Peddinghaus hammers, I would tend to shy away from their anvils do to the cost. If you want to talk anvil tech, I highly sug...

Roll over a pipe using a weighted rubber mallet, it works better. Also, iron monger's dishing forms are very nice and cheaper.

There are much better options than this for allot less.

IMHO.

A similar style can be found on:

P. 80 of Arms and Armour - Cleveland Museum of Art (ISBN - 0810963760). Described as being from Augsburg or Hungary, C. 1580.

P. 272 of Museo Poldi Pezzoli - Armeria 1. Nice examples of different styles. They refer to the pieces as being from Milan, c. 1580.

It is referred to as Anime. I am not too sure of the timeframes off the top of my head, mid-15th century Italian sounds correct.

If nobody else responds, I will look up references and details for you when I get home.
