it works fine - we tried this a few years ago - take one mitten and cut it in half- gives two "covers" for the kydex gaunts. drill small holes around the kydex and sew the maile on. they looked pertty good if that the look your going for but they were kinda heavy compaired to regular clam ...

i am so f-ing frustrated i want to cry and throw things and smash stuff! in a trade i got something cool and wanted to do good too. made a couple of really nice shields - matched - one for nice fights one for beating on. aside from glue taking for ever to dry in the over humid shop space no big deal...

One Shot. I did some searching on the AA and came across that. It's oil based, so a bit of a pain to use, but it has a nice sheen (not shiny, but just right) and seems to be holding up well. if you are using the knife blade on the leather man tool - put it away before using the plies to pull something toward you. when the something pulls out or the pliers slip you might stab your self. in the gut. and bleed a bit....

Skip the rope and just round the edge and glue on canvas. Cut the canvas bigger than the shield so the edge can wrap. Saturate the canvas with glue, stick if to the shield and wrap the edge over amd glue it down. Then paint it when it's dry. Mine have been inspected at every major war with out issue...
