I think 20ga stainless should be sufficient, especially if you crease/flute/bend the splints before attaching them to the leather.

Here's his LARP's website:

http://www.endlessadventureslarp.com/ealarpframeset.htm

I encourage you all to post on their Guest Forum to complain about him. His name's Ryan Gau, but he goes by Roman Gwar among them.

Okay, I think I found you. You're Ryan Gau/"Roman Gwar", right?

Your spelling and grammar are slightly better on that forum.

Nice D&D Avatar, btw...

plenty of coats of plates featured substantial protection for the back of the torso. Just because there are no one-piece backplates until after c.1400 doesn't mean that you're stuck with nothing but mail or scales on your back. Look at some of the illustrations in Dei Liberi's 'Flos Duellatorum' 9mo...

I don't know about Independence proper, but KC has a number of them, including Kanarr(sp?) and a fairly large Dagorhir chapter. I recall Mr. Alucard posting something about one of them a few months back on another thread.

Keep in mind also that this kid has a history here. He once came on here and loudly bragged about how many aluminum road signs he'd stolen, and refused to back down when he was told that taking them was wrong. Makes me wonder about his parents... As far as I'm concerned, this kid, with his oh-so-cre...

Why longsword, though? I don't see what longswords have to do with neo-paganism. I doubt that any historical European pagans ever fought with longswords. Why not do something more appropriate, like Norse sword and shield, or spear, or dane-axe, or something?

It's not that I doubt that they were pagans, but that I just have issues with the seemingly ineradicable notion that "pre-Christian indigenous European religion" must necessarily indicate "womyn-centered, exclusively earth-mother-goddess-worshipers". Once again, I know next to nothing about the Pict...

Why would it be so bad to reward those who invest a bit of their own money into making the game look better? Why do we have to inject modern notions of populism into the question at all?
