Yeah, we included the Ephesians bit, too. I actually wind up talking at local churches several times a year for that one. The pastor took some wonderful photos of me in the beautiful nave of their cathedral, which is full of stained glass and gothic-style arches. I wish I could find those pics onlin...

m Page 6. I was "St. George" for some kids at a cathedral in Topeka. It was great fun. I think this is the only photo in existence of my suit with its new lance rest (barely visible) that I had Patrick Thaden put on last summer. I need to get some new pics uploaded. Incidently, the lady at...

There is nothing more expensive than a well-made plate cuirass, custom-fit to your physique. Josh, I adjusted your statement a tad... I know, but he didn't mention expense. Seriously, my 15th century Italian cuirass, with its "ball-and-socket" motion between upper and lower cuirasses, is ...

I used to make brigandines out of those plates, "riveting" them inside upholstery vinyl coats with those brass paper fasteners. They really do offer a decent amount of protection if done properly.

Civilian-style garments over armour in 15th century Italy

I seek period representations--manuscript illustrations, tapestry images, sculptures--of any sort of textile garments, especially long, fancy civilian-style gowns or coats, worn over plate armour in later 15th century Italy. Anything along these lines: m m I guess I shouldn't restrict my search to I...

What makes it fun for me is winning in spite of the fact that I am wearing far, far more armour than my opponent--winning in spite of a handicap (so to speak), defying the odds, etc.

Prejudice against thrusting tips sounds to me just as silly as prejudice against "arm hunting." "Good/bad technique" is subjective. If a fighter is having success with thrusts, don't rob them of what is, for them, an effective technique.
